The Home Course

Course Details: Located in DuPont, Washington, The Home Course is a public par-72 layout designed by Mike Asmundson and opened in 2007. Spanning 7,412 yards with a course rating of 75.8 and a slope of 141, it’s owned by the Washington State Golf Association and Pacific Northwest Golf Association, earning the nickname “The Home of Golf in the Northwest.” Set against views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, and the Olympic Mountains, the course offers a flat, walkable design with a modern clubhouse and affordable green fees ($40-$70). WSGA members and students receive discounts, and the course is known for its excellent conditioning and Titleist rental clubs.

Play Characteristics: The Home Course plays as a parkland-links hybrid, with wide, firm fairways that encourage aggressive drives but feature blind tee shots on holes like the par-4 5th. The greens are fast and undulating, requiring careful approach shots to avoid tricky putts. Nine lakes and over 60 bunkers add strategic challenges, particularly on the par-5 14th, where water guards the green. The flat terrain makes it accessible for walkers, but thick rough and dense shrubbery punish errant shots, emphasizing fairway accuracy. The course’s open layout and scenic backdrop reward bold play, but its length and hazards demand solid ball-striking and course management.
