PGA West – Stadium Course

The PGA West Stadium Course in La Quinta is a legendary Pete Dye design, renowned for its dramatic landscapes and challenging layout, making it a bucket-list destination for serious golfers. Opened in 1986, this par-72 course stretches over 7,300 yards, featuring deep bunkers, water hazards, and the infamous par-3 17th “Alcatraz” island green, which has tested pros during The American Express PGA Tour event. The course’s terra-cotta mountain backdrop and wildflower-lined fairways add to its visual appeal, while the par-5 16th “San Andreas” with its deep greenside bunker offers a strategic challenge that Dye himself highlighted as uniquely demanding.
